This year, TechFest and Field Day were combined into one experience held on April 3, 2009.
The first half of the day was dedicated to TechFest where students were engaged in hands-on workshops, got to hear several keynote speakers, and had the opportunity to tour the sponsor booths in the gym.

The remainder of the day was set aside for Field Day, where students participated in a wide-variety of sports and activities outdoors.

The highlighted conclusion of TechFest/Field Day '09 was the first ever Crooms AoIT LAN Party. Held from 5p.m. Friday evening until 7a.m. the next morning, the LAN Party allowed gamers at Crooms to come together and "play their way into spring break."
